1 edit | Broadband is not the same as internet access

Too many miss that little "detail". To the telcos, "broadband" does not equal "internet access". To them, "broadband" is a channel to sell you services like TV. They'll use as little of it for unmetered internet access as they can get away with in the market.
Remember that when AT&T owned their cable business, they called it "AT&T Broadband", even though very little of their bandwidth was used for internet access. To the telcos, "broadband" is not about providing "fat dumb pipe" access to consumers. |

| You guys are dreaming, think of the price of bandwidth! We will be lucky to see 256kbps up. And everybody will have a 5 gig/mo cap thats not in any documents. And all out-of-provider connections will be throttled down to 50k/s Yay for the future of the internet in america. |
