Because the state in which that town resides in passed a law in 2004 alleging to protect private telecommunications businesses from unfair government competition — called the Local Government Fair Competition Act . Perhaps the local government should shoulder some of the blame for passing such a law. Does it make it right for cable & telco's to be able to sue? Who knows, its in the eye of the beholder.

urwrong @cox.net	reply to Cod law was passed by STATE after very serious politicing by BS. problem at this point is question of whether the LUS parent utility company can shoulder financial responsbility to improve bond rate. LUS lawyers and BS lawyers agree to disagree.
