Does the Elite speed have anything to do with this: »news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060426/ap_···_t_dsl_1 |

1 edit | reply to NewMariner said by NewMariner:Ask what the price is....Im curious if its a comparable jump from the pro... It appears it depends on what services you have on your phone, We only had called id but to get the $29.95 price I had to get a service bundle such as caller id, call waiting, call waiting id all in one. Otherwise I would have to have paid $39.95 which is still cheaper then the 44.95 price, plus some us can finally get a 786Kbps upload!
Small update: Well the nice lady was going to put the order in but now I have to wait because the loop length has to be checked first. Give me a break! I have 6016/608 for the last 2 years with no problems, just give me the new (small) speed increase and price and be done with it! |

The one article does say this: "Existing AT&T Yahoo! High Speed Internet customers can upgrade to the Elite service through the company's Web site and take advantage of the current pricing". |

If I understood the nice lady right, the only way you can get it is if you have certain services or bundles with them. If all you have is the cheapest line service and nothing extra (like caller id) I don't think you can get that price. |

All I was suggesting was something equivalent to that upgrade might be offered on line for an upgrade to Elite. I guess we will have to wait to see how all this shakes out.
Whenever these new offers come out there is always lots of confusion among the CSRs vs. what is said in the press vs. what we find out here. Plus there may be more stringent distance requirements on this new offering than the old Expert Plus qualification distances. |
|
 | Well I was told I had to be within 6500FT which I think was the same for the old 6MB package. |

 | reply to NewMariner Darn, SBC has finally given me what I've been wanting. I sure am glad I didn't sign in on the 6/mos followed by 6mos of $65. |
|
 | reply to NewMariner I saw nothing about it on the sbc/at&t web page. I just got connected last week, and if I can go faster for less money, I want to know. |

| You might find you hear or see things here before they are widely publicized. In some cases you might hear some things that never are publicized.
Certainly looks like the kind of incentive that might have me finally get back on that 1 year contract ride again. I wonder how long it will be before new speed higher tiers become available. |
|
 | Just rerated. With bundle 29.99 for a year then 34.99 without 41.99 for a year then 44.99. I knew this was coming munch better than the 64.99 I was paying. |

 | reply to NewMariner Exactly what plan is this? I currently have the Business Pro-S package right now (1 year committment with 1.5-3.0/384-512 and 5 statics).
Can I get that speed upgrade and pricing and still keep the 5 statics? |
