Re: [northeast] NY, NJ & CT to get increased speeds effective 5/

dslreports.com speed test result on 2006-04-26 09:59:20 EST: 27069 / 1788
Your download speed : 27069 kbps or 3383.6 KB/sec.
That is 688.2% better than an average user on verizon.net

Your upload speed : 1788 kbps or 223.5 KB/sec.
That is 130.7% better than an average user on verizon.net

=====================================================

The above is pasted (one test is already saved) from a test done through dslreport on a nac.net server in Parsippany NJ ... If I go to speakeasy.net directly and run their tests from the NYC server I am now seeing over 40 Mbps! I also checked by downloading a 20 MB+ driver file from nVidia and it came in at 2.8 Mbytes/sec. Considering I don't know where that file originated or how much other traffic I encountered it still shows a marked increase over the 950 Kbytes/sec I got downloading the same exact file last week (and no it was not cached) ...

Indeed something is odd because my downstream is way above what it should be for my service but my upstream remains unchanged. Perhaps I should just stop looking a gift horse in the mouth?

EDIT: Okay, even more out of the ordinary!
