| Re: that's cool A friend has a WISP, he gets 10/10 from it now(has for some time now).
I could definately handle 10/10! 45/45? Yeah, I would suffer with it... -- Think outside the Fox... Opera

| it says this in the article: "adjunct to DirectTV" which could mean that it's either part of their dishes, but I really doubt it. I think (hope) they mean terrestrial based microwave link (would they not have said sat. link???) which would make more sense. regular microwave links don't have nearly as much latency as a sat. links.
I wonder though, if these condo's are now "locked in" to this service provider and would not be able to get, say fios, or a faster cable deal (eventually).

| Re: that's cool Doesn't realy matter if they can keep the speed up with FIOS. Yeah, it's a shared link technology in a M.U.D., but it's far faster than what you can get with a standard ISP, (Especally upload speed.) They just need to keep their speed equivalent or higher to any FIOS deployments in the area, and at a lower price. | |

| said by MxxCon : but seriously.. microwave dish receiver, does that mean it's coming from the same satellite as tv(ie huge ping times/lag)? My question too. Is this synchronous as well as symetrical? | |
