 | lucky, here in tampa on that screen the speeds are still the old 5/2 15/2 and 30/5 at 39/49/199 respectively.
Sad, when we (tampa) have had it for longer than NJ and most of the country yet we get screwed. |

Screwed??? Consider yourself a person of privilege. You've got something that 90% of Verizon customers don't have. Don't begrudge the subs, in the area where Verizon has seen the most aggressive competition, their upgrade..... It will keep you from whining about what you don't have. |

 | reply to MrPatryk I can't even register with verizon.com. I have the account number and all that, but I run into a small snag when it asks for a phone number. I have no landline from Verizon, only a Verizon Wireless number. -- Join Team RC5! |

My only options are to downgrade to 5/2 or upgrade to 30/5 for $179.95 per month Well, Cablevision doesn't beat the 15/2 package, they matched it. Now VZ is upping the dl and ul speed, which I don't think CV can match on the ul speed with docsis 2.0, since they offer a 30/2 package. Competition is good |

It's not enough to get me to switch but I'd like the upgrades! Our area has 3 Different Cable / INternet Providers RCN, Comcast, Verizon, Plus DSL Companies and Satalite for TV so they should upgrade our area as we have a good ammount of competition -- Ricky SmithVerizon FIOS User15 Mbit Down 2 Mbit Up |

| reply to ropeguru said by ropeguru:I just wish they would get busier rolling it out to more of use BEFORE raising speeds for those that have it. Logically, that makes absolutely no sense. The process of increasing speeds for existing subscribers has just about nothing to do with the roll out in other areas. It's not like there is a finite number of bits and faster speeds for those of us with FiOS is slowing up those that don't from getting it.
The only resource in essence that both have in common is money, and I'd almost argue that the additional cost for the extra bandwidth is somewhat inconsequential as most people will never make full or even significant use of it for some time if ever.
Verizon needs to stay competitive in those markets where FiOS has real competition. This appears to be one of the ways they intend to stay competitive. -- "What gives them the right to come in and do this?" she said. - Lady complaining that she was getting FIOS in her backyard. |

 | reply to MrPatryk Hi.
What market are you in?
Was it like pulling teeth?
Did you call the main FIOS number of 888-553-1555? or another number.

Took about 5 min. on the phone. They were very nice.
Forgot what number I called. It was the one on FIOS website that came on the page after I tried unsuccessfully to do an online upgrade.
I don't think this upgrade is available in Tampa.
