1 edit | Bye Bye Adelphia
HELLO Dish and Bellsouth DSL.
No more weekly, day long, 2 day long outages of internet and tv. No more fuzzy local channels. No more random black channels (had no fox channel for a week, abc the next). No more one minute no packet loss to 80% packet loss. Amen lol
No more being a tester. I will wait till VOIP and other forms of internet (other than telco internet) are more reliable. Maybe when we have flawless video phoning worldwide. -- "I was too busy selling castles and Gucci bags to watch this show" |

I am close to 100% satisfied with the service Adelphia has supplied me ... If I remember right 100% up-time ... sans the power outage that the whole North-East experienced a few years ago(what good does an Internet Connection do when you don't have electric service) and when I "forgot" to pay my bill(after I called it in, service was restored ). -- I may disagree with everything you say, but will defend unto death your right to say it. - Voltaire |

I think if a company has many markets. They need to be sure of their services in all their markets theyve added. DSL and Satellite television have been the only services for internet and television Ive never had bad service. -- "I was too busy selling castles and Gucci bags to watch this show" |

| reply to HomeLvr Well, its good to have choice I suppose. However, I was a Bellsouth customer for many years, and after Adelphia HSI became available in my area, I signed on with them. I think Bellsouth is like the 500 pound gorilla and I choose not to spend my money with them. Adelphia has not been 100% peachy, but it's better than Bellsouth, even on their worst day. Just my 2 cents. |

Just my 2 cents. You must live in one of the few good areas of adelphia. With DSL atleast I dont have to worry about bandwidth running out and then having to wait an indefinite amount of time for them to add more bandwidth so I can surf the web at faster than 180kbps -- "I was too busy selling castles and Gucci bags to watch this show" |

| Well, Adelphia started wiring my area about 3 years ago, so I am sure we got the latest and greatest. I had major issues with Adelphia late last year, but this was after Katrina, only it continued for 3 months- I b*tched and complained to no end, only to find my particular server blade needed replacing. They fixed it , and so far, its been ok-speeds are above advertised.
My issue with Bellsouth is being forced to carry landline service, and a 2 year contract for DSL. Mind you, I live not even a block or so from my telco, so the speeds were great. Also they threatened to close a Cingular call center in Lafayette, Louisiana, if the city decided to build their own community broadband infrastructure. I do not have a say in that, but I do decide where my money goes, and it does not go to Bellsouth. |
