Block cookies or Java

Ok, first of all I hope this is the correct section of forum, I am not very familiar w/ forums, so Here I go.

Many of you may know how to block those kind of cookies or java related, just duno what is doing it. The deal is when you go to websites (porn) on add banner there is saying that meet girls from around your area and I would like to know how to block that from this people knowing what area you are surfing that website.

Is not like I am hiding it is just I just don't like for them to know what part of world I am surfing it.

In other words. is there a way to surf this pages anonimously?

Thanks in advance for your help.

a simple way is to block javascript, java and/or activex for IE in your browser of choice.

ezelcucuy, what's happening is they are mapping your IP address to your physical location. It's not as exact as the street address, but usually to the nearest city. There are databases of which IPs belong to which ISPs (or local branch of a national ISP).

You can't avoid giving an IP out - it's like giving your address when ordering a product, you have to tell the server where to send the pages, pics etc. that you want.

You can find an open proxy and set it up in your browser (there's at least one Firefox plugin for this too), then to the server the requests appear to come from the proxy rather than from you. Google for open proxy lists to find some. This will slow down your surfing and is insecure (the proxy operator can log everything).

I personally am a fan of those websites as well. The websites you visit will always know your IP address unless you use a proxy, tor, JAP.

As mentioned previously, they slow browsing a lot. I personally feel that the only time they are needed is if you are doing something bad (kiddie porn or terrorism).

As others mentioned, your IP address can usually be traced to your city. I belong to a car forum and there was someone that was able to fool a bunch of folks on another car forum that they were able to trace them down to their home address.
So I added this page to one of my comcast websites to show them how it is done, and not to worry.

You could use something like my proxomitron setup to make java click to run, flash click to play, and write or find filters to clean up lots of the scripts - you can also set it to deny cookies not whitelisted, or make all cookies session only that aren't whitelisted.

Another option is something like admuncher, or Adblock plus and noscript extensions for firefox.
