Think about how many students you have? How many machines? How many profiles on myspace stream audio and video? Now think about the Universities connection... an OC-3 maybe? Of course the school is going to block it when the site starts useing a large portion of the schools available bandwidth. I certainly would. Yall argue that you pay for access... but what you pay doesnt even cover the cost of the connection much less the cost of equipment, maintance, the administrator's salaries, etc..
you dont like it? too bad. get wifi and pay for that if you want to go to myspace but quit whineing about "oh i cant visit myspace". You are at school... access is provided for you to learn not for you to simply have fun. It IS their network and they can do as they please.
This is not high school anymore. YOU pay for the internet connection. There's no reason for them to block myspace unless it is a security issue, which i don't think is the case.
