Re: Oh the sleaziness of it all (Better Choice Bundles)

Reign, yes, the better choice bundle discount applies to cable, internet, cell phones, and home phone. The level of discount you qualify for depends on two things: when you signed up for the bundle, and how many services you have with Rogers.

If you signed up before November 1st 2005, you only need at least two services to get a 15% discount. If you get three or four services, you still only get 15%.

If you signed up after November 1st:
1 service gets you no discount
2 services gets you a 5% discount
3 services gets you a 10% discount
4 services gets you a 15% discount

So if all you have is cable and internet and you're getting 15%, you probably signed up a long time ago. But if you also have home phone or cell phones with Rogers, you should get a 15% discount on those too.

Something for you to consider though, because you have basic cable: Basic cable on its own is not considered as a service to qualify for the discount. Rogers used to say that if you added the "extra outlet" charge, they counted that as "more than basic cable" and that's why you get the discount. But at some point they changed their mind, and now the extra outlet trick doesn't let you qualify. So if you ever plan to make changes to your cable, make sure you know whether or not you'll get to keep the discount.
