Can we make them sell them off?

Since the Bells don't want to deploy in some areas and wish to redline in many areas, they should have to sell these areas off to be allowed to do so.

They seem to care less about these areas unless someone else comes in. They don't want to invest until they have to. They don't have the money unless someone else starts deploying.

If the Bells won't do it make it so Co-OP's can both local residents, private and governments. Just like rural electrification. Never mind...time for me to learn.

I know we as in all of us need to write our reps and not just in here. I wrote mine for the 3dr time yeasterday.

BTW. I don't know how to build a pole on BBR. Can someone throw one together asking how many have wrote their congressman over Network neutrality? I just want to know if others really take the time.

If the gubernment would give up all regulator power of the phone companies the objections to the gobernment getting into the business would stop. How can you have the competition controlling your business.

Rural electrification is a welfare state at best, communism at worst. You people chose to live where you live don't expect me to subsidise it.

That could possibly be one the the most self-centred egotitical comments i have ever heard. You know that corn you eat? that beef you chew? that mlk you drink? a lot of that is produced by people who live out in the country... in rural areas. So, you are telling me that you should live fat and wealth off of them, yet they shouldnt be given modern amenities such as electricity, phone service, TV service, and internet? Get your head out of your butt.

It is mostly produced by factory farms that employ Illegals.

WOW you have no concept of reality, do you? My wife was born and raised in rural Iowa and those farmers are AMERICAN born pure blood Americans who work hard for their money.

Then maybe I should stop subsidizing your broadband as well. Do you think that we out in the country don't pay taxes? We pay the same taxes as you, but most of what we pay in goes to teh cities and very little of it comes actually to us. Our schools are falling apart, but yet we can build a new billion dollar stadium for the NY Yankees, yeah, our priorities are straight. Maybe, if they took teh billions that stadium is going to cost and put it into schools and rural broadband deployment, we wouldn't be having this discussion right now.

I agree with the post right above me. I live in rural Upstate NY and am surrounded by cow pastures. the cows that live on these pastures are both for dairy products and meat. these are small family run farms. Their children help them here on these farms or they hire local help. The local help are farm hands that are definately not illegals. These people work hard for what they have and provide for the rest of the country, that includes you city types.

I live in Morris County New Jersey, the third wealthiest county in the US of A. You don't send any money to us. As for the Yankees I hope you don't build them a stadium, then they will move to New Jersey. The East Rutherford Giants/Jets are getting a new $750,000,000.00 stadium. They are building it with there own money.

Actually, I also have Verizon and if you have Verizon DSl as your tag says, then yes, I did subsidize your broadband as I also pay into the USF and other "taxes" on my phone bill. What I out into Verizon goes to everyone it seems but those of that need it out here in rural areas. plus, i used to live in Monmouth County, NJ and I payed taxes there as well. So one way or another I payed for your broadband and just because you say your one of teh 3 richest counties in the US, it doesn't mean that things in your part of the world aren't subsidized.

The Phone Company in Morris County gets ZERO from the fund. The Phone Company in Beverley Hills does but not us.
