@af.mil | ATT started putting out flyers this week for their new services. Got one on my door yesterday. I need to give them a call to get more information on services and prices, but it appears they are ready to undercut cable service on price. |

| reply to dadkins I'll just be happy when when the ILECs and CLECs start offering ADSL2+ service. Chances are slim that I will see fiber in the near future anyway, considering I don't use an ILEC as my ISP, so ADSL2+ is all I can hope for right now... -- Forget 'em, Support the Indies. »www.ind-music.com |

| reply to anoncoward Undercutting prices. It's not 'not-normal' for a company to do, but it makes me wonder.. if these alternate video services (similar to cable being alternative phone services) are so good and going to be so much better, it makes me wonder why they undercut?
In the age of corporate greed and the days of gaining market, you would think that people would simply drop the horrible cable service and move over the phone for video with little need to nudge.
When cable went after phone, the prices are generally higher (as people note here all the time) and yet they are still making a huge dent in the POTS carriers. Why is Video not doing the same? It should be more of an all digital service, a slightly lower price, you think it would win.
I am just a little suspsicious of the need for them to come out and heavily discount the service (which some do) to win over the customer. We all know, in the end, that if the undercutting price happens and it hurts their competitor, the new winner always raises their price in the long run. (Pretty much like the move AT@T Broadband did in forcing out the @home service. Anyone ever remember AT@T Roadrunner Service?) |

| I had a chance to give them a call today. It was not as inexpensive as it first appears, but there is an option for cost saving as they are offering 3 tiers of internet service. For similar service it appears I would paying a little less( 5-10/month) for a little more(faster upload, 3 dvrs included) |
