| If you're looking at a daily rush-hour commute there really isn't a good route. I used to do a 33 mile commute from Chino to an 8-5 in Downey (60 to the 605) and averaged 3-1/2 to 4 hours a day in the car. Your drive is probably going to more like 50 miles. |

Saw a new story once about a lady that drove from Victorville to Torrance every day to teach at a school there. She set off at 5am to get there by 8am every day, and sometimes she was late. |

| reply to tkim Ugh. If it's a commute, I'd move to Torrance. The weather is nicer in the South Bay. |

| Depending on the time of day, I would go North on Archibald then west on the 210 to the 605 then south to the 60 then west merge with the 5 and the 10 then all the way to the southbound 110 and then south to Manchester. get off at Manchester and go right to your destination.
If its later take the 57 south to Imperial and then west on Imperial all of the way into the 110, then south. It still works, My niece used Imperial the other day at 5pm from LAX to here and made in 80 minutes. -- »Weather

I'm expected to arrive in Torrance @ 8:40AM. What time should I leave - Google Maps says 1 hr. I *know* that can't be right. More like 2 hrs?

Pardon all my questions, but I'm an east coast transplant and I've never had to travel beyond the IE. I do appreciate your responses, though. Your directions to John Wayne Airport were AWESOME. |

| Depends on the traffic. My friend can make it to Long Beach in a little over an hour some days. Other days it takes him two and a half hours. And it *always* takes him longer to get home. -- One man's Magic is another man's Engineering. |
