| Central Command (Vexira) AV? Does anyone have any experience with or comments about Central Command (Vexira) AV? It is basically 1/3 the cost of renewing our Symantec Corporate licenses, so I'm considering it as an alternative. I can't ever recall running across an install of this from my consulting days and there's not a great deal of recent reviews.
Any comments would be appreciated, but I especially interested in hearing from anyone who may have used this in an environment with a large installed base.

| Re: Central Command (Vexira) AV? If you are talking Windows, CNET's review from about 3-years suggested it was light on resources, but slow to scan. At that time they thought the $30 annual update fee was pricey.
I can find no information on scanning of packed or compressed files.
You don't say how many workstations, or whether you have servers. Look up their current pricing here (it's gone up since 2003).
Another comment - I don't believe they have ever been evaluated by any of the major AV comparative sites.
Have you looked at eSet's NOD32? It has an excellent reputation, and may just be more cost effective:

| Thanks for the information. As to your quantity question, it's 750 workstations and 12 servers (educational pricing). CentralCommand is pricing the AV at under $2.00 per workstation/per year (server cost is much higher though). Free home use rights for staff as well.
I've used NOD32 personally before and I will investigate its pricing as well.
We've been using Symantec Corporate for 9 years now. We've had no problems, it's just expensive.
