Are you referring to the passport photo question? If so, how is the state of California involved? The outside link in the article goes to the Consular Affairs website [US Dept of State].

3 edits | Oh, I was just trying to imply for all Californians to read it so I stuck it in there.
Either way, I say their all guilty for scamming, those funds reach all levels. Local, state, and federal, they are all in concert. Even though it might link to some US State Dept., it was done at a local SF post office.
Let's just hope it's an isolated incident. Which I really doubt. |

While the passport site of the government talks about dye transfer or inkjet prints being acceptable, the passport form includes the 220F requirement, and indicates that digital photos may or may not be acceptable. |

1 edit | Negative, I can't find anything that refers to the 220F heat. Please post a link.
Whats interesting is this guy says in his answer that there is no heat involved anymore. They are scanned digitally.
And I can't find anything relevant to the heat matter. Not in here:
»travel.state.gov/passport/guide/···880.html
or here
»travel.state.gov/passport/forms/···847.html
I have checked many other of the pages which could be related and nothing specifies or backs that up. Enlighten me. |

1 edit | reply to K Patterson OK forgive me, I just checked the DS-11 form and it does state that stipulation while all the rest of the other links provide nothing.
However if the part where the man says "But U.S. passport offices now scan photos digitally, so there's no heat involved." is true, then regardless of what they put on their form, if it's non applicable and does not apply anymore it needs to be removed and people shouldn't be getting jipped.
LOL, I just read this when I woke up in the morning for work and I didn't have time to fully "investigate". |
