Need a router recommendation

The FiOS install came with a DLink 624. I really don't like this router. Even after configuring the firewall portion, sometimes it just doesn't work well with BT. The ports I opened still remain closed sometimes.

I use to use a Netgear FVS-318, but the internet port is only 10mbps.

Can someone recommend a router? Preferably one that I can also set bw limits per port/wireless. I don't mind spending alittle more, like a couple hundred, but I don't want to spend over 500, cause that would seem to be at the entry level corporate routers.

Re: Need a router recommendation

Check this out, TomsNetworking.com did a big hardware router review. Since FIOS can attain some great U/L and D/L speeds, I'd suggest a router that can handle it. I switched my D-link out for a Netgear FVL328 since it had support for TZO.COM Dynamic DNS and the D-link didnt.....

I recently picked up the Linksys RV082 (I needed the 8 ports, but they have a 4 port version). So far the router has been very good.

My Linksys WRT54GS v2 works well with 15/2 (haven't gotten around to asking for the speed upgrade yet) with bittorrent always running.

I believe the good performance of this router can be attributed to the Thibor firmware I'm using, more so than the hardware itself.
