1 edit | The phone needs to be unlocked, and t-mobile won't unless your account is still active with them, otherwise places charge people to unlock equipment.
After the equipment is unlocked you can put our sim in, and use it, however you will have a problem, part of Cingular's coverage is the 850 band, which this phone doesn't support, so unless your local towers are 1900 band, this phone won't work. Also you would need Cingular to help update your phone for things like sms, and their wap internet.
