Earthlink never asked or showed me how to check my speeds and Sonic brought that up immediately. Most people I know never heard of Broadband Reports. Live and learn is the message..
There must be a couple hundred or more places on the Internet that tell you about checking your speeds.

Norwalk, IA		 True Dr. Olds, but if you don't know to look you will never find them. Most people get DSL, it feels faster so they think all is OK. They simply don't know to check to see if they are getting what they paid for.
