I've never used it myself, but you might try SSH Sentinel.
You can find links to it on this site if you look a little.

Cool, thanks for the quick reply. Are there any free vpn clients you would recommend that you believe will work with the fvs318 (I would be putting the client on a laptop - do you know if the XP vpn client works with the 318?

Since this router supports IPSec VPN protocol, you will be able to use any IPSec VPN software.
I have used the Netgear (& ZyXel) client sucessfully with routers from Linksys, ZyXel & SonicWall.

I have a Netgear FVS318 - I believe it is a v1 router. This supports VPN within the router and my question is:

Do I need to use the Netgear VPN client to work with this router or do other VPN clients (i.e., free VPN clients) work with this router?
