| [IL] Moline/Quad Cities - OLN (Chan 76) missing sound.
Picture is clear, all other channels I've checked have sound. OLN (76) has nothing but static/white noise for audio.
This is on digital as well as analog cable.
Anyone above 'tier 1' that can check into this? I'm missing out on game one of the Stanley Cup finals. (and, just to throw a little negative spin on things, the tier-one idiots have absolutely no troubleshooting... They wanted to role a truck out >THURSDAY to fix a problem that's obviously something on Mediacomm's end. |

| If you are referring to Tier 1 then that would be tech support for the HSD product. They aren't going to be the ones to talk to about CATV problems. You want to speak to customer service not Internet support. -- \m/(-_-)\m/ DAILY HAROLD - MMHA Freedom of speech is wonderful - right up there with the freedom not to listen. |

If you know so much more than them, apply for a job or fix your problems yourself. Like TheDark said, if you are having problems with your TV, that is a customer service issue, not a Tier 1 issue. So before you just go off bashing people, make sure you know what you are talking about. |

| Get your heads out of your keister... There's a reason I put quotes around 'tier 1' - I don't know the official Mediacomm wording for whomever I spoke with, but they were the first one I talked to, and are therefore "tier 1" to me. How can YOU be so gall as to defend someone that obviously doesn't know how to do their job?
For your information, I once did work for a cable company, and I had the rather hideous job of doing tech support for both cable TV as well as the ISP side of the business. I can assure you, if someone called up saying one station had problems, I'd flip one of our test TVs on to see if there were any problems globally with that station. To blindly say "we have to roll a truck" is just plain lack of any understanding of the product you're taking calls about.
I have worked various telephone tech-support positions over the past 15 years, and currently manage a group of ten techs at a company that provides businesses in the area network administration services. If any of my techs blindly issued an on-site order for something they didn't take 10 seconds to troubleshoot, they would be reprimanded at the very minimum. |

| reply to SengFeng So what would you do about one person having a problem with one channel? I would sure roll a truck. But since you're so much better than all of us other idiots then we should just let you tell us what is wrong. Dont come in here and start flaming people when you are looking for help.
BTW I have had to replace splitters that have gone bad and started blocking a Very small range. Maybe 1-2Mhz. Just enought so that they dont pass the Audio but pass the video just fine. -- I Reject your reality and substitute my own. |

It wouldnt pass the video on channel 40, in this case, but the audio came through just fine.
