Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Found your posting which says
"A pap2-na (NA=North America) is not supposed to be locked/tied to any VoSP like a PAP2 is. That said, any PAP2 firmware released under Linksys is not supposed to lock a pap2-na unless the pap2-na is used to serve some VoSPs that remotely locked the unit (which can usually be unlocked by a factory reset). "
My unit is one of these units that was factory resettable and had no lock for admin / user logins. My question is now answered.
The reason I sometimes do a factory reset is to restore the unit to factory settings in case I change too many settings and do not what the default values are. |

join:2006-05-31 Abbotsford, BC | i exchanged mine repeated those steps saved 1234 pwd after refreshing i wont ask for pwd and when after setting tftp server i try to flash it it prompts for pwd and is not accepting 1234 as pwd |
