| Report on Voicestick - Day 2 Voicestick test - day 2
Called a relative in the US about 5pm edt, using the ata. Everything was dandy for 10 minutes or so, then we were disconnected. I tried dialing again, but the connection dropped after a few seconds.
My relative dialed my voicestick number; the phone rang, but the connection wasn't there or was quickly dropped.
Then I used skype, which worked like a charm for the rest of the conversation.
After we finished, I used skype to dial the voicestick number, using the ata, but the connection was gone before it had hardly been made.
I disconnected the ata, and ran the voicestick softphone, and again used skype to call the voicestick number. Same problem.
After about 10 more minutes I tried again, calling the softphone via skype, and this time the connection was maintained until I hung up - 4 or 5 minutes.
Then I connected the ata and called again. The phone rang and the connection was made and maintained for about 11 minutes, until I hung up.
So, it sounds like voicestick isn't up to landline-phone standards, or even broadvoice standards, judging from my year with broadvoice.
But that was only one incident, and I have a while to go before my $10 credit runs out, or I give up on the service. |
