| [Kerio 4.x] Quick file sharing question about Keiro
Hi,
Just started using Keiro and have a small question.
I got 2 PC wired and one laptop on wireless connection all going through a Netgear router.
The 2 PC's can share files easily with no settings changed under Keiro. The laptop on the other hand I had to go to Network Security/Trusted Area and set it up under this section. I clicked Local area connection/Computer and then entered the local IP address. All is running smooth. With no issues at all.
All I think i need to know is have I used the right method?? just a bit worried incase i thought I did it right but its wrong!
Thanks! |

| Are you using application/predefined or packet filter rules? It sounds like your using the first method. Packet filter rules will allow you to define only the ip addresses that are required to access these files whereas application rules will allow "any" ip address that is added (and checked) within the trusted area (depending on the configuration). How have you setup your netbios rule(s)?

 Keiro |
Netbios rule? I not configured that and have not seen it anywhere. How will this effect it?
The attached is the only one I have touched and also file and printer sharing in network security/applications tab.
Thanks! Sun |

| Sorry, file and print sharing is the same as netbios (depends on the view chosen). How is your file and print sharing rule setup? This will determine how your trusted area ip addresses are actioned.

| 192.168.0.0 should cover all ip addresses from 192.168.0.1-254. Your router is probably 192.168.0.1. You can find this out by going to the command line (start, run, cmd) and then typing "ipconfig /all".

PC 1 is 192.168.0.3 (even though its plugged into the fourth slot on the netgear router)
PC 2 is 192.168.0.4 plugged into the 1st slot on router!
Weird! still all works though! |

| Sound like you've got DHCP server running on your router which is issuing ip addresses automatically to your workstations. Not sure why 192.168.0.2 wasn't used first but as long as it's working, that's the main thing.
