Re: [general] General Beam/NOC Maintenance Announcements

Not really a service announcement, but I got this from my provider the other day:

After some service outages, subscribers may have to reboot
their modems to regain connectivity. The following are
instructions on what you should do:

1. Check to see if the power light on the modem is solid
green.

2. If so, please disconnect the power from the modem at
the power source(example: wall outlet or surge protector
switch). PLEASE DO NOT PULL CABLE AT THE BACK OF THE
MODEM. This may cause damage to the pins on the connector.

3. Leave the power off for five minutes.

4. After five minutes, reconnect at the power source.

5. You are ready to begin browsing when the lights for
power(top light) receive(2nd light from top) and network
(4th light from top) are solid. This may take a few
minutes.

6. If you cannot connect, please repeat this process.

7. If the modem does not connect after a second try,
please call our toll-free tech support at 1-888-817-6240.
