| reply to Kameleon36 Not a new one but very good none the less.
Fission combines address bar and progress bar, making the progress bar more visible.

| reply to Kameleon36 Not new and probably not "absolutely can't do without" except for those who want to be able to use a single toolbar by minimizing space used by Menu items and maximize use of remaining space on the Menu Toolbar to move the Navigation toolbar items from the Navigation Toolbar to the Menu Toolbar and add icons to access common Fx options/settings. (Fx allows you to hide all toolbars except the Menu Toolbar.)
Compact Menu Modified Versions of Compact Menu * Compact Menu's Shark icon replaced with mozilla M * Compact Menu's Shark icon replaced with glass Firefox
Stop-or-Reload Button
Bookmarks Menu Button
MR Tech Local Install In addition to the many enhancements to Fx, also provides quite a few toolbar items i.e., Options, Clear Private Data, Extension & Theme Managers, Plug-ins, about:config, etc.

Adblock has been around for many moons as well as NoScript.
Edit* Less common extensions are the prize. |

1 edit | said by Grail Knight :The OP asked for New Extensions. Adblock has been around for many moons. How did I doubt you for even a nanosecond, my friend? 'Tis I, in my frailty of mind, that be in need of overhaul. Lobotomy, perhaps, thence banishment from all things requiring ponderance of thought. Diapers & drool, the new staples of my existence. As an acquaintance has stated only too aptly, "gettin' old sucks"! My apologies, Grail Knight. You are, as always, right on the mark.

| reply to Kameleon36 "New" is kind of subjective. Something can be "new" to you that's been around forever, simply because you never heard about it.
A better way would be to start by listing what extensions you already have. -- »vtbsd.net/winhelp/ Digg me: »digg.com/users/sremick/submitted |

| reply to Kameleon36 Has anyone use the relatively new McAfee SiteAdvisor extension for Firefox?
Main reason I would consider using is when rating unknown sites in search results where a malicious site could appear as a legit site.
CNET's review gave it 5-Star rating, but more important the "User Reviews" have been good.
Note: Mainly read CNET's reviews for the "User Reviews" -- overall I've found CNET's reviews to be mostly informative but not authoritative.
--------------- OT/Rant:
For example CNET's Best Firefox plug-ins for work is about Fx Extensions not Fx Plug-ins.
Sent an email to Mr. Rafe Needleman that what he's calling "plug-ins" are extensions -- Fx has "Plug-ins" and they are not extensions.
Mr. Needleman's reply:
You say potato...
Anyway, point taken. I think most people consider any add-in a plug-in, so I'm not going to go back and revise this column, but I will be more mindful of the terminology in the future.
Thanks for writing -Rafe
I've used Mozilla Suite long before there was a Fx and through the years of reading various Mozilla/Fx articles, forums, etc. first time I've seen anyone used the term "plug-ins" for extensions. Grant that "add-in" or "plug-in could be used as a general definition/description of an extension -- but (IMHO) when writing an article/review one should use an item's proper name not it's definition/description. Especially with Fx articles/reviews to avoid confusion with novice Fx users since Fx has "Plug-ins" and they are not extensions, and vice versa. |
