| Need some help with creating a GIF Hello All,
My wife has asked me to help her create a gif for a project she is doing. She needs the name of her team (Sparks) on the some sort of "firework" graphic. I have found some clip art I was working with, but not bound to using it. If anyone could help put the word "SPARKS" across this image and clean it up, or if you have something else creative, please feel free to share. Thanks for any help you can offer.

To give you some info on what they will be doing with it, they will be using the graphic on heat transfer paper and then ironing them on to plain white tshirts. So something that will look good on 8x10 paper.
Picaw,
I look where you are going with it, but I don't know how the Sparks in the background would come out on heat transfer.
Also the colors are green and white - so preferably the word SPARKS in a shade of green and black accents maybe and all caps...
Anyways great work so far!!!! Much better then what I came up with!

That one is really good, can you do it in all caps and maybe outline in black?

A lot of great work. I printed some out, and I guess I am going to have to go back to the drawing board. At a full sheet of paper, It looks very pixalated.

1 edit | Re: Need some help with creating a GIF That's because it is a web graphic, not a print graphic. You have to have at least 300 pixels per sq. inch, and the color format for print (after doing your editing in RGB, you change it to CMYK for print).
CMYK won't show on the web except as a zip, because it is a printing format. It won't show true in any editor because it is always a bit more faded. You have to allow for these things. If your printer has a saturation setting, turn it up all the way for printing good graphics (but don't leave it up or you'll be buying cartridges!). Play with the settings, make sure they are on photo, experiment, and you'll get a result you can live with. (Remember to try resizing through adding the 300 pixels in the image size menu - it may or may not work; I haven't tried to do it with this image, but I have had success with it in the past with other converted graphics; remember to set your view in your editor to print as well, so you can see somewhat that which you have. Also, remember to let the paper dry after turning up the saturation - it will be wet.) -- Some people think they gain through dishonest means, never realizing that in lying, cheating, and other dishonesty, they are losing pieces of themselves, which they can never recover. 2 edits | Okay, I am uploading a .gif and a .tiff of the latest graphic I made from your graphic. I don't know if the .tiff will upload, it is so huge, but it won't hurt to try.
If I succeed, try printing out the .tiff - it is 300 psi and in CMYK format.
Edit: Darn, forgot to leave it at 72 psi for the .gif - if you want to see how big it got click it, then click it again for a more normal look.
The large size is how big the .tiff will look in your editor, should you decide to view it (and I recommend doing so); go to view and click on print size, and you'll see - more or less - how it will look when printed out right.
Edit #2: You can follow the above instructions to try to print out the .gif, too, since it is 300 psi, but you will have to convert it to CMYK, and I don't think that format is supported for .gif files.

The auto shapes are vector, Jon. So is the type until you rasterize it.

| Re: Need some help with creating a GIF I have been trying to use the Curlz font to make the names for the shirt. I am using Paint shop pro. Trying to make it look similar to the way Jon has the word SPARKS in 3d with the black outline. I am just not having any luck. Any PSP users who can figure this one out?
Thanks DsL Tech | |
