| Is FIOS sill comming
few months ago we were led to believe that DSLX would be offering fios to its Verion customers where its available.
Just recieved my Verizon fios hanger and behold , fios is available. Also my DSLX contract is up, but I'd rather deal with DSLX than Verzion. any news ? Gonna be ordering fios next week , would hate to miss DSLx offer. |

| I too would like to know what the status is on fios reselling. A rather aggressive Verizon fios tech showed up at our door the other day desperately wanting to sign me up for it but he couldn't answer some important questions I had before being able to commit. Is DSLX going to offer this or should those of us seeking fiber connections begin looking elsewhere?
My contract is also up for renewal and I'd really like to know if this is ever going to be possible. -- Co-Developer »www.quicksilverforums.com

| reply to vladik007 I'm still interested in this as well. A friend of mine has his fios install this Wednesday. He'd love to go with DSLX instead of Verizon. -- Check out our public servers |

| Guys , from what i've been told , DSL X has no update on any fios related questions.
It's hard for me to leave static IPs , but my rather pathetic 1.8mbs/ 580kbps throuput is just not in the same league as 15/2 fios offers. So switch is in the order....
I'll have to talk to my roomate if he can deal with little bit down time while we switch. |

| It would still be nice if we could hear something official on this. The Verizon guys were back out again on Saturday trying to get me to switch again but they still can't or won't comment on keeping my existing servers. Naturally of course they also refused comment on reseller agreements.
They appear to be aggressively targeting all DSL users in their coverage areas and trying to get them all to switch to fios. They're even trying to get people to switch JUST for a fiber optic standard phone line. They seem to want to drop their copper like a brick. -- Co-Developer »www.quicksilverforums.com

| of course they want you to drop copper. No copper , no competition except cable co's.
Just placed my order for fios on Monday. Install date is next Wednesday .... 15/2 for $35 is no brainer. If i wont be able to hack it without static ( ie if DyDNS doesnt work out ) i'll upgrade to business plan. For $95 they offer 5/2 no port blocking and 5 static IPs. As of now i'm paying $ 65 for 1.8mbps/650kbps with dslextreme.
Will let you guys know how it all plays out. |
