Welcome to "Provider Poll" v. 2006!

If you use more than one mobile device please vote for the provider you use the most often even if it's a data only device like a Blackberry. I referenced last year's poll and only dropped AT&T as they are no longer offering service. Sprint and Nextel are still listed seperatly as Sprint continues to sell service under both a "Sprint" brand and a "Nextel" brand. If I've missed your particular provider please vote other.

As always, the above list are providers in the United States and Canada, if you have service in another country with the same brand (T-Mobile UK for example), please vote "other."

This is the poll's fourth version with a new one posted every ~12 months.

Thanks for starting a new [POLL], Quip See Profile

My choice is still Verizon, for least dropped calls & good customer service.

...and especially their "New Every Two®" plan.

T-Mobile for now...contemplating a switch to Cingular once the contract is up to get new phones.

I'm a GSM person only...only way to get the cool phones from Asia to work.

Don't all the carriers do that? Or is Verizon's better in some way?

edit: Oh, & Sprint, mostly because its really really really cheap.

I was with AT&T Wireless before they became Cingular, and now have Cingular service. I have it for both my work and personal cell phones...it's the only service I can get up here in the mountains outside the Front Range area in Colorado.

Cingular here, almost 2 years now. Service has been great, no complaints.

Depending on the price of the phone T-Mobile customers can get around 150.00 off upgrading a phone every year if you do one year contracts, if you do two year contracts it can get as high as 250.00 off the phones.

You should see what the carriers pay for the equipment before claiming 100.00 every two years is a good deal....

My hourly rates:
$25 per hour.
$35 per hour if you want to watch.
$45 per hour if you want to help.
$75 per hour if you tried to fix it, and failed.

I didnt make any claims I asked who else
gives you $100 off new customer pricing
toward equipment.

Now, I dont know about where you
are but T-Mobile coverage is horrid
where I'm at. Besides that with
my corp. discount on phones/service
VZW is actually cheaper than TMO.

Before I try to answer, I'm a little confused...with Verizon, does one get the same price as new customers, plus an additional $100 off? Or does the $100 bring prices in line with what new customers would pay?

From the guys at howardforums...
"NE2 is off the 2yr price, which is what you get as a new customer. With the $100 NE2, you spend $100 less than as a new customer."

Thanks, that is an awesome deal lilhurricane, good to know!

OK then, I dunno who all does that. However, currently, Sprint has $150 rebates off standard prices if one has been a customer for 2 years. That makes new phones like the Fusic, or older ones like the A900 free or very close to it.

They also do this for new customers...but hey, a deal's a deal!

I am stuck with Cingular for 4 more months. Ugh. They are terrible in Southern CA. I will be heading to T-Mobile as soon as my prison sentence with Cingular is over.

Tracfone. Everything else is absolute bloat for as much as I use mine. I have a couple hundred minutes on at any given time, I have voicemail, and I have TXT messaging.

On avg. I only spend maybe $20-$40 every 4-6 months on minutes and service. I live in a an area with many dead spots (for every provider) anyways so why spend more?
