| Anyone else get the PowerBoost service announcement?
OK, I've seen a lot of posts about whether or not people have the PowerBoost or not, and under what conditions it works. But I haven't seen any mention of the email Comcast send me last evening. It fairly clearly spells out the conditions under which it operates.

Compatible cable equipment, including modem, is required to receive PowerBoost enhancement and other stated speeds.
PowerBoost speed statements and all speed references are for downloads only. PowerBoost is only available with Comcast 6.0Mbps/8.0Mbps speed service. Maximum upload speeds of 384Kbps/768Kbps for 6.0Mbps and 8.0Mbps respectively. 8.0 Mbps service may provide bursts of speed up to 16Mbps. PowerBoost works by temporarily providing brief bursts of download connection speed above the provisioned 6.0Mbps or 8.0Mbps download speed for the first 10MB (for 6.0Mbps service) or 20MB (for 8.0Mbps service ) of a file download. It then reverts to your provisioned speed for the remainder of the download. Many factors affect speed, such as the condition of the wiring at your location, computer configuration, equipment, Internet and network congestion, and the speed of the website servers you access, among other factors. Actual speeds, including PowerBoost speeds, will vary and are not guaranteed. Features and services subject to change.
