No the sync drops were not intentional. The POTS is in direct sunlight all day and now that I think about it, my sync problems started soon after the weather turned hot. If I can find my spare splitter, I will give it a try. Thanks for the help.
reply to d_l You were right it was a "dying" splitter. I replaced the POTS splitter and now no more sync drops.
