| reply to Rick i guess we'll soon be TW... but i'm pretty happy with adelphia. the prices have been pretty high (and steadily climbing), but we've been almost trouble free since we had it all installed, and the tech who installed everything was a great guy who ran new cable wherever i though i might want it, for free (to me).
contrast that with a recent encounter with cox at another house owned by the extended family, they want $100 for the install and something like $33 per cable run. we'll see how well it works out in a couple weeks time.
in truth, i'll miss the support staff here the most, if they end up evaporating after the name switch. if they stay on in some new capacity i'll be much more comfortable with the new situation... -- A man compounded of law and gospel is able to cheat a whole country with his religion and then destroy them under color of law. -Ben Franklin |

| I am looking forward to when TW comes to the WNY area. Read where in the Albany, NY area with the TW All In One package, there is 66% penetration for digital cable, phone and broadband. Figures in the Buffalo area for customers with digital cable is only around 10% to 11%. TW must be doing something right!
In addition, TW offers more channels in their respective TV lineup in addition to a huge selection of VOD. It will be interesting to see how much Time Warner will invest in WNY area in upgrading the system to handle phone, more digital channels etc. |

| reply to Rick I didn't vote because there was no option for me. I think I will be on TW (not sure because I just moved here and just found out Adelphia was closing up shop). I don't know if I will be happy or unhappy with TW because I have no experience with them. (Before I moved, I had OOL on Long Island.) I guess I will wait and see! My only other option is Verizon DSL and they top out at 1.5 Mbps DL in my area and I get more than 4Mbps on Adelphia. |

3 edits | reply to Rick We're going to Comcast here (Mendocino County, Northern California). I don't really have an opinion yet, I want to see how Comcast will be here, but Adelphia has been great for HSI for us (well, to be honest, Adelphia is also our only choice for HSI), if a bit expensive. I guess I hope the good speeds (Premier Tier, we see 6100/850 all the time, and low latency) will continue, though I'd like to see lower prices, more competitive with DSL, but since most areas here can't get DSL, I'm not holding my breath. |

1 edit | reply to Rick Results so far are 51.6% of respondents are going to TW and 30% to Comcast.
And people seem somehwat less enthusiastic about going to TW than to Comcast.
I find that kind of surprising because I thought that Comcast was getting the bulk of the Adelphia customers?
Perhaps the biggest surprise is that 18.3% of respondents will be cancelling just to have the honor of drinking with Hob! |

1 edit | reply to Rick I believe we get TW here,I see no change is service short term.
I will say this again and the Adelphia employees who post here will agree, this isn't going to be a magic wand, so ..... If your service sucks today, it still will tomorrow, you just make your check out to a different company.
Drinks at Hob's ??? I'm there, but keeping my service as it is. -- There is nothing more valuable than a man whos loyalty can be purchased with cold hard cash. |
