It's exactly correct for Northern California, here in Mendocino County we're going to Comcast, and Lassen County and far eastern Shasta County (town of Burney) are going to Time Warner.

It has Millcreek in PA listed twice, once showing Comcast and once showing TW. I'm gonna guess TW as Comcast is nowhere near by, and TW services two cities in my county.

Much of NorCal is Comcast, including our southern neighbor county of Sonoma. Our eastern neighbor of Lake County is Mediacom and to our north Humboldt County was Cox, but got sold to some company recently. I'm not sure why Lassen and eastern Shasta Counties are going to Time Warner, there is no Time Warner in NorCal.

Mill Creek isn't listed twice.

It's:

Milicreek: TW

Mill Creek: Comcast

Hmmm I thought it was a typo since I didn't know there was a different Mill Creek. Both spellings tend to get used around here, as Millcreek is named after a creek named Mill Creek.

Besides the other one "milicreek, I was wondering about Mill Creek vs Millcreek. Are they the same but just accepted variations?

There is no municipality in PA named "Milicreek". My guess is it's suppose to read "Millcreek".

Well then, I see your point with your question about being listed for both ISPs.

So maybe the chart showing Milicreek is a typo for Millcreek, but as you say, Mill Creek is a different town.

Do you know where each are located? All the ones you mentioned.

Of course, though I have not been to all of them.

Mill Creek :Lycoming, Huntingdon and Schuylkill counties.

Millcreek :Lebanon and Clarion counties.

Missed one, Millcreek: Erie county.

So now, which ones are actually referenced on the list?

Living in Millcreek myself - I'm pretty sure it'll be Time Warner. Comcast is no where near our area. Time Warner on the other hand serves the city of Erie a few blocks over from me. I'd prefer neither but I'll take the latter

Sorry, I missed that one.

I'm guessing the ones that currently have Adelphia.

Put "Milicreek, PA" in a google search & it's funny that in fact Milicreek in Erie comes up. Reading some of the hits makes me wonder if it really is an error or did some old farmer name it that way.

Well folks, with an astounding 1412 page views and 119 votes being cast, I'd say the final numbers are pretty much in as to how people feel about their new providers.

I'd also have to say that Hob better get the fridge restocked cause they'll be comin round the mountain real soon!

TW and I'm happy about it 25.2%
Comcast and not too happy about it 21%
TW and not too happy about it 20.1%
Comcast and I'm looking forward to it 19.3%
Hob's house for drinks i'm cancelling broadband 14.2%

It's interesting to note the pretty significant difference between the
"TW and I'm happy about it" and
"Comcast and i'm looking forward to it".

Obviously, for most people voting, they cast this vote based on perception of what they might expect and not on how the service performs yet.

These more favorable results for Time Warner mirror the larger results monitored here at BBR with Time Warners longer term favorable rating at 77% vs Comcasts 67%.

»Company entry - Comcast
»Company entry - RoadRunner Cable

Personally, I think that Time Warners branding of their service using the RR character is what gives them this 10% boost.

Back in the day when I had the service, I recall my thoughts initially being Roadrunner..was fast, and fun.

It really can make a difference in the way people view things, especially when they don't have any personal experience with the service to go on.

Anyways..good luck with your new providers!
