4 edits | Happy Birthday AMERICA WE have been through many natural Emergencies during the last year,where people have literally lost everything except the clothes on their back,and this could have just as easily have happened to you & me,and [b]WE have reachoed out to complete strangers asking for help,when we felt like we have lost everything,& people have reached back to offer us comfort& WE HAVE DONE IT ON OUR OWN[b] with other countries only offering us some offering sympathy or laughing at us & our problems,with no other country sending any type of help.
WE HAVE HELPED EACH OTHER & OUR SELVES,
WE ARE AMERICA
SO HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA,
as some start out for a long Holiday,(July 4 ) weekend,
lets not forget those that ARE fighting & allowing us to be free & say a prayer & a THANK YOU to them

Now a little from a report by the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO)
"In response to Hurricane Katrina, countries and organizations donated to the United States government cash and in-kind donations, including foreign military assistance...Because the U.S. government had not received such substantial amounts of international disaster assistance before, ad hoc procedures were developed to accept, receive and distribute the cash and in-kind assistance...In the absence of policies, procedures, and plans, DOS developed an ad hoc process to manage $126 million in foreign cash donations to the U.S. government for Hurricane Katrina relief efforts...Through this process, $126 million was donated to the U.S. government from 36 foreign countries and international organizations without restrictions, which DOS recorded in a designated account at the U.S. Treasury to hold the funds."
I guess it's just one rewrite of the history books and France didn't give us the Statue of Liberty!

also as a reminder to ALL, ck your own state/city, but here in our city/Texas, the firedep't is watching through binoculars all fireworks stand,(after your purchased your pulled over, fireworks confiscated & your fined,(anywhere from $500.00 to $2500.00) last year 85 people were caught.

What a shame to take the fun out celebrating this GREAT NATIONS birth.It`s basically an education issue that they fail to get across.I mean even if all we had were pots and pans to bang together there would still be some missing teeth and a few knots on the head by the end of the night.

I was watching tv not too long ago and I think it was Jefferson who said that July 4th should be celebrated with bonfires and stuff like that.
