Little background, moved to Naugatuck had PRO DSL worked great got 2500 down, in February there was an outage in my area lost DSL for a few days, when it came back still synced up at Pro Speeds (3008) but never got more than 1500 down. Mr. Fixit checked the line said everything was great, still no speed. Upgraded to Elite figured that might kick the line back in to shape, same old same old and I got screenshots this time. I've tried two modems, have had a separate line from the NID run into the house for DSL only. Tried with router and without, changed all the cables. Can someone please tell me whats going on. |

| Call support ask for Tier 2 and tell them to rip/rebuild your profile. Or post in » AT&T Direct |

1 edit | reply to Rekr You can but I wouldn't bother. Your profile is built into two spots (I think into your account for sync rate and into the Redback). They must have missed the Redback. Happens quite often it seems.

Rekr join:2005-09-12 Naugatuck, CT | Do you think that during the outage in February they did something to the Redback that reset my profile, because before that 3 day outage I was running PRO dsl speeds (2500kps) perfectly fine averaging about 240K down. After the outage I could still sync at the PRO speeds (3008) but could never get more than 165K down. Anyway Mr. Fixit IM'ed me for my phone number so perhaps he can perform some of his magic.
Thx,
Doug |

| reply to Rekr Hard to say what caused it. Maybe they moved you to a new Redback or something either to solve the outage or get you up and running again. Maybe they didn't bring your profile over correctly during that move. Could be any number of things. I've noticed some changes taking place recently, not that changes are bad if they are done correctly.

1 edit | reply to Rekr RT fed, clean feed from the outside nid only works if an outside splitter is also installed or you just end up putting the problem in parallel with the DSL modem, if indeed the problem is inside.. My test indicates you should be good to go and get test results in the neighborhood of 5Meg. »support.sbcglobal.net/dsl/speedt···ex.shtml |

Ok ran the tweak test weird thing is Max Packet rec MTU is at 1336, but Max Packet sent MTU is at 1492. I just put a new router in Dlink DGL-4100 so I think that 1336 may be related to that, as usually my tweak test show 1492 on both. Regardless of that I still get the same speeds with or without the router in. |

Rekr Use Dr. TCP to set MTU to 1492 and RWIN to 13068 in your client PCs (if they are Windows boxes), reboot PCs and re-test. |
