They do have it - it just isn't user activatable. They hibernate when the battery gets too low.

When you put your laptop to sleep, it backs up your RAM to the hard drive. In the case you remove your battery to replace it or your battery dies when you start it up the next time, it will boot up from the hard drive from hibernationn. But as jwsmiths4 See Profile says, its not user activatable.
