Thanks for everyone's opinion. Last night I put in the original 512MB that came with my MacBook and I only lost around 2% of my battery. So the extra RAM must be the cause of the abnormal drain.

Now that I know nothing is wrong with my MacBook, I can rest easy. While I do lose a fair amount of battery power in sleep, I'll just have to keep that in mind when putting my MacBook to sleep for extended periods of time. Thanks again.
I agree with the assessment of the other members here, this sounds very normal to me.

Every laptop I've ever owned has had battery drain like this in sleep mode.

Quite frankly, I rarely use sleep mode on my MBP. Tiger seems to boot in less than 30 seconds, so I never see the need for it.
