Convert to Line Art?

Celtic Cross

Thanks, sargeeld . Some of the lines are blurry, though. That's the problem I've been having. I need the lines crisp -- it's for a tattoo.

Dan, have you tried calling around locally? I think that is one of the standard tattoos in many of the places where tattoos are done. You might even be able to see one through a web search.

Just a suggestion - I figure you already did these things, but made the suggestion, just in case.

Maybe, Bill. I think the knot-work is what makes it unique from other basic Celtic crosses. I'll have to visit them to see. They don't seem to like to talk over the phone.

You've been in the IE for a long time... what's a reputable tattoo parlor around here? Empire?

I don't know, Dan. I've never been to one, and the only person I could ask is in Europe right now - he knows them all, having many himself.

I think that he mentioned a good one in Pomona, and another in or around La Verne, but I can't recall the locations, since I wasn't interested at the time.

Maybe a google search for the same cross as line art?

BTW, I've asked someone who knows Fireworks, hoping they'll also know Freehand; I think that weirdal(SP?) is also good with the former Macromedia applications, and there is one other person who touts the use of Fireworks who contributes in this forum, but I can't remember their name.

When I do, I'll IM them too.

You might try posting to digital imaging too, although I don't know if that would get any results.

One more thing worth mentioning: a good tattoo artist could take the pic you have and downsize it to your specifications - but that's a good one.

I could do the graphic yes but the scroll work would take several hours, and it wouldent look a great deal different from the original ...

Well, if you want to take on the project, converting it into line art, I'm sure ohdan would appreciate it beyond words.

I would suggest IMing him and talking about it, AC. If it would take that long to make it into a line drawing, you might want to discuss that with him, as well.

I`m not really understanding why the tattoo artist cant do it with the original image though, can you explain to me why he cant ? ...

Oh. Well, I wanted to bring in the design in the exact size that is needed. I want the lines to be clean so that it can transfer properly.

If it's too much trouble then just forget about it. No big deal.

I started to do some earlier but it dident look too different from the original though ...

Thanks for your efforts! It's probably too time-consuming for anyone to do. Maybe I should just take the original to the artist and see if they can do something with it.
