| [Speed] RWIN for new Comcast Speeds
Hey, the rumor about the "16/1" comcast speed is true. I've been testing and it works. Except for the 1mbit upload (I'm still stuck with the 768k) But... I do have 16mbit downstream. I did a few tests on the NYC Speakeasy server, and they actually go to 18000++ :P When I download from Internet Explorer (for example the OOL FTP test) I average about 2.33mb's a sec. I downloaded from a very highly seeded torrent and I got about 2457kb throughout the entire torrent. So... my need downstream speed is somewhere around 16-19/768k --- So now, for my question... what RWIN can I use in DRTcp??? |

| reply to MaCRO7 I think what you are seeing is just some insane bursting/possibly this new PowerBoost. If you did have the 16/1, your upload would be ~900kbps.
As for RWIN, I have had mine at 128480(MTU 1500) for a while now. No retransmits, no collisions, WAY insane bursting! I don't think I have anything besides bursting yet...
Powercycle your modem(pull power for 1-2 minutes) and see if your upload increases to ~900kbps. You can up the RWIN to 128480 and it will be fine for whatever speeds you do have.
Hope this helps! David -- Think outside the Fox... Opera |
