If your market has powerboost, it will automatically throttle up your speeds whenever there's traffic, regardless of what protocol/device is using it.

The service is essentially not able to distinguish between your Xbox and your PC if you're behind a NAT router.

I haven't had the luxury of having my area upgraded yet, but the literature I have read has alluded to traffic that would natively use FTP or another higher port number.

I'm not sure what service microsoft has chosen for demos, but It'd be a pretty asanine implementation on Comcast's part to solely make port 80 the key-off.

Keep in mind, the easy-to-remember ports are only used for the initial connection and signaling. The meat of the actual transaction is handed off to a higher number port.

Comcast figured out a way so it only works on legal downloads. I get no speed increases from Torrents or newgroups (stuck at 768KBs), but files from filefront/fileplanet i get 1.6 megs.

Don't know if it works on XBL though, even if it's legal.
