Sounds like they are using spyware to me! Of course it only took me about fifteen minutes to get the card back up but most people would not know how and I hope I don't have to fix it everyday. Point too all this is that verizon sucks and so does their customer service, they are an awful company and need too be sued or fined out of business. Have you guys heard about this and if there is already a class action lawsuit who do I contact to join in? Also what government agency would you file a complaint with? People need to be warned so other people don't get ripped off too.

Well in one of the recent stories on your very own website it was said they have an invisible cap at 10gb, and this was the slingbox/Verizon story. Basically users who were streaming video to their pda over the Verizon's network to devices like the Moto Q, and were being shutdown from the bandwidth used.

Yet another 'unlimited' is not unlimited. Hell, if they advertised 10gb that would at least be something they could make obvious to customers who might seek to use it heavily even though it is wireless.

I'm sure Sprint has come invisible caps also, or at least might take similar actions if their usage causes problems with other customers as that has always been a part of any contract.

Maybe it happens a bit (though I've not heard one story) but its certainly not happening on the same scale as it has been with Verizon.

it wasn't clear to me that this guy was using EVDO. Are their slower unlimited data products verizon sells? eg: I have a verizon blackberry and it has data (slow).

I will say I've never heard of somebody being cut-off from using a crackberry all the time, but they don't have the multimedia software that the other pda devices have.

Text, and pictures are nothing really. I barely used 512mb per month with my T-Mobile internet as my internet connection, but since it is 1-3x dial-up speed its not good for streaming media/etc either.

but with phones with bluetooth or usb can function as connections for laptops, so I can see someone with the non evdo data products marketed as unlimited getting into trouble very quickly?

Sprint has Phone as Modem priced at 39.99 for unlimited EVDO if you have a voice plan or 49.99 if you don't. If you don't have such a package added to your plan, it bills at a casual rate of 2 cents per kilobyte. I keep asking Verizon people I know how Verizon handles that, but they never have any answers for me.

I have Verizon EVDO w/PC card. I haven't gotten close to 10Gb tho in a month, so don't know if they would cut me off.

I have downloaded several CDs worth of Linix in a day, so they don't have a cap per day/hour at least.

It's unlimited, but "fair use" as far as I know. So, they can do whatever they really want to. Sad, but true.

At work, Verizon is charging higher fees with the wireless access GPS stations we've installed. They are increasing prices 5-fold the amount as they were a year ago. We are working with Verizon to reduce these costs...but yes, "unlimited data" is not really unlimited.
