Just a few points of note here...

DSL was installed and working on time. Download speed is 5000, I'm getting very close to that in speed tests (around 4600) and seeing uploads of around 750 (896 advertised). I'm very pleased with the speeds and reliability. I've had no issues with my DSL, even though my phone service was all messed up due to a broken wire at the pedestal.

SPEED TESTS ARE HORRIBLY UNRELIABLE! These depend on the ammount of traffic between you and whatever server you're running on, the speeds of the server itself, and then the speeds of your computer. Then you take all those factors and multiply them by two for the setup on the other end where the test actually is, then just add in the factor of how many people there are that are also downloading the same test at the same time, and subtract however many years you'd have to spend in college to get a degree in advanced mathematics to be able to come up with the actual speed and there you go. OR you can look on the modem's GUI pg and it'll show you a snapshot of the speed that you're actually getting. It's not something that's just programmed into the modem, and if you don't believe me, ask the tech to drop your speeds temporarily and you can just watch them go down.

Price for first 12 months is $29.99 for Qwest DSL with MSN Premium. I'm not all that sure what the MSN part is, I did not install the software. The emails accounts are through Hotmail, a major downside to me. I am not using them either. There are no POP3 or SMTP servers available.

MSN uses HTTP servers and it's kinda like the hotmail ones, but not quite the same. The MSN package is just that email and the MSN browser... and a slightly cheaper from price from what I hear.

The Actiontec modem seems to work fine, but I'm running it in transparent bridged mode and using a linux based router and Linksys wireless access point. Qwest is renting me the modem for free for the first 12 months.
I have not needed to use tech support yet.

OK, I'm sorry but I just had to move your quotes around just a bit for effect here... that's some network setup you have there. Glad to hear that you've never had to call tech support before, and if you ever do... good luck with that.
