| GPS Tracking?
Considering all new phones after 2005 are GPS enabled, this spying is getting dangerous. They claim they were recording numbers and call times, but also recording the GPS is probably just as easy as checking a box(Assuming they already aren't recording the GPS info). Basically our government will know where everyone is at all times and who we all talk to. |

The GPS phones I've seen are pretty careful about using your GPS--you have to specifically enable it, unless you call 9-1-1, in which case it's automatically enabled for 15 minutes. The only other exception I've seen is on the kiddie cellphones, which are specifically designed to report the position to the parents, who are, incidentally, the true owners of the phone (lest the ACLU start claiming the "rights" of 7 year olds to run away are being "eroded".)
Of course, if you think the companies are all lying to you and using the GPS 24/7, you should feel free to wrap your phone in some of that same tinfoil you're lining your hat with now....

Just wait until the police start using the information in investigations. Wouldn't it be great to be accused of a crime, because your cell phone placed you near the crime scene when the crime occurred? |

I bet you're related to those idiots who opposed license plates for cars because they wanted to drive anonymously. Of course, bank robbers would love that....
BTW, insomniac84, if you're really worried about someone tracking your whereabouts, you might try wearing your baseball cap straight, rather than tilted off to one side. That appearance makes you much more recognizable, and will help people place you near all those crimes you're so afraid of being accused of....

I am not saying your accused of something so the phone saves you, I am saying you took a walk and unknown to you someone was killing someone in the privacy of their apartment. Now your a suspect because you were near the scene. Then of course you look like the murderer, so you get convicted and go to jail. All of this brought to you by the U.S. Government. |
