1 edit | [northeast] 50/5 service for $89.95
Nice deal for New Yorkers. A bit more expensive for NJ and CT.

There's also a 50/10 for business. |

| reply to robjlevin In New York, customers can get this speed at $89.95 a month with a one-year agreement, or $109.95 month-to-month. Current New York customers have the option to retain their 30/5 Mbps service but can call their local Verizon office to upgrade.
Ok, so if I call I get the upgrade, but does my monthly cost change to $89.95?
In New Jersey and Connecticut, customers can get this speed at $139.95 a month with a one-year agreement, or $159.95 month-to-month. Current customers in New Jersey and Connecticut with the 30/5 Mbps service will automatically be upgraded in the near future to the 50/5 Mbps service at no extra charge.
Why do they get it automatically? |

No one can be auto-upgraded to 50/5 from 30/5, since the price is different. |

| wish they would offer these prices here in Md... Grrrrrrr
I have a buddy in Va. that has the 30/5 for like 54.95.. I'd like to get that.. but the 30/5 in Md seems to be in the 179 range... like I'm gonna pay that..
Wish it were one price for one speed nation wide...

| I totally agree. To bad for me Comcrap is too much of a wussy and the best they could come up with is "speed burst" technology to use against FIOS. What a joke. Of course if Verizon bumped folks up to the same speeds here in Maryland then they would totally crush Comcast.
Now I am not saying that I need the 50/5 tier at 89.95...I would be happy with my 15/2 getting bumped up to the 20/5 at the same price I have now. I guess I am dreaming though. |

| reply to robjlevin Yeah, I would definitely be happy with the 15/2 > 20/5 upgrade for the same price. I just hope they get around to upgrading everyone, and not just doing that in those areas solely because of competition. That would be very unfair to consumers in other areas. |

| reply to ablack6596 I called Verizon Encore, spoke to a rep, she said you will be charged more for the 50/5 service. I asked why not NJ or CT, she said she had no idea as she only deals with NY. Does anyone in CT know how much the 30/5 package is? Maybe they pay a lot more because its not Cablevision's home turf? Thoughts? |
|
CrzyCrakr Premium join:2005-06-24 Edgewater, MD | I am sure that anyone that is not in Cablevision Country will not only not have the screaming fast speed but will pay a lot more for what they do have. 30/5 is still $180 around here. |
