Re: Lightspeed node in Milwaukee area?

My Gawd! That thing is huge! I wonder how long it will be before it gets "tagged"? Couldn't they put it underground?

I've heard that these things are noisy too, because they have built-in cooling systems. Does anyone else know much about these big boxes?

Regarding the aesthetic issues, it looks like this issue is dead center on the radar of Wisconsin municipalities. Additionally this 31 May 2006 newsletter has two other articles related to AT&T's efforts: »www.wiscities.org/newsletter.htm

Also I thought this was for FTTH but apparently I haven't been reading things too carefully, because as you probably know this is for FTTN. I'd like to blame it on the heat, but really, I'm just a caveman. Your technology confuses me.

Yes. Beleive it or not they are not loud at all. If you walked by one you would never know it was running.
