AdAware update for 7-18-06

Am I the only one who has not been able to update automatically this update? I was able to auto update yesterday to get the 7-17-06 update but unsuccessful so far with the new update today. Anyone else?

Well, I got the 7-17-06 update yesterday, and when running it now it connects successfully, but says there are no updates available.

I'm not going to worry about having a one day old definitions file...it'll come around eventually- It always does.

Especially since I hardly ever run scans anymore.
I just like to watch it update, and look at all the pretty skins available.

(Edit) Oops...forgot the Skins.

The original 7/17 update posted yesterday was broken-you got an error message saying "unable to read update". Later in the day it was fixed, but still said 7/17. Looks like it was also reposted as the 7/18 update, since there were two 7/17 updates.

Hi,

I was the one who posted the update at the end of this update-thread:
»Security Software Updates - 17 Jul 2006

Yes, I too had problems to get the update but I finally got it on two machines (Win98SE and XP-home).

I dont see it posted at the LS-forum, but I really got it.

Here is again the info:

Reference Number : SE1R115 18.07.2006
Internal build : 138
File location : C:\PROGRAM FILES\LAVASOFT\AD-AWARE SE PROFESSIONAL\defs.ref
File size : 727672 Bytes
Total size : 2367049 Bytes
Signature data size : 2318729 Bytes
Reference data size : 47808 Bytes
Signatures total : 64731
CSI Fingerprints total : 3319
CSI data size : 122786 Bytes
Target categories : 15
Target families : 951

The MD5 checksum for defs.ref is:
69be756eba6665e9c698d859082bb0e7

Must have been a glitch then and they fixed it. The home page says the 18th, but my update is, like everyone else dated the 17th.

Oh, and I have no idea about what's up with the updates and they're all in bed right now I imagine. But I don't think it's a problem.

my definitions are dated 7/17, internal build 137, and adware is saying that there are no new updates..

update: i downloaded and manually installed the "update" from the lavasoft website, but adaware is still showing that i have the 7/17 definitions, internal build 137..

I have absolutely no idea what's happening with this update.
The Lavasoft site is telling that the latest update is from 18.07.2006
This site: »www.lavasoftusa.com/
See screenshot.

In the next posting I will attach the file defs.ref (zipped, no password) that gives me that update.

I have the same update as Jrb2 See Profile. Perhaps it has something to do with the Paid versions vs the Free. Updates come from different servers. Both Jrb2 See Profile and I are using the Pro version.

defs.zip 727,901 bytes
In the attachment you will find the zipped file defs.ref
It is the definition file for 18-July-2006.
The MD5 checksum of defs.ref is:
69be756eba6665e9c698d859082bb0e7

Use at your own risc !
I have scanned the file at Jotti and VirusTotal: clean.
I would advice to first make a backup of your defs.ref before replacing it with this new one.
I hope that Lavasoft will tell us what's happening.

No new update for me. Well, who cares, I'm sure I'll get another one next week or so.
