Mouseover for the IM icon

From this thread: »Mouseover prompt for PM graphic in post

The IM icon under each user's post needs some descriptive text like the thumbs-up icon. For the users with high screen resolutions, the image is too small to make-out.

I have a high resolution on this flat panel LCD and I have trouble reading text here if using IE because it doesn't enlarge all text on a page like Fx does. However, this icon I have no problems whatsoever telling what it is. It is small, but very clear. So, I am puzzled as to why others can't tell what it is. Icons can be very small and you can tell what they are. Text is entirely different. It cannot be read if very small. I hate mouse overs and don't want anymore.

Edit: The icon for saving/copying/bookmarking the link is small and also has no mouse over but no one is asking for explanatory text for it so why is it needed for the IM icon?

Logic dictates that the same code is used repeatedly to build pages so adding an img title attribute globally seems a trivial task.

The changes would serve to make the user interface more consistent and should be done for all "action icons". While I understand what icon does what, a newer member may not.

I think all of the objects in that area need popup labels. Particularly the ">>", which is totally mysterious.

Either popups for all, or for none.
