said by tsedlmeyer :Don't take this the wrong way. I do appreciated VT finally addressing this problem but it would have been nice if VT had used the BYOD alert list to disseminate this required change before implementing. I'm not taking it the wrong way--in fact, I completely agree with you. They should have emailed info regarding the change to their BYOD customers. In fact, (anyone can correct me if I'm wrong) I don't recall a FAQ on their website that lists VT's preferred settings (ie. what they'd provision all their PAP2's to, all account settings except SIP authentication creds and server ID. |

| reply to Fisamo I came here looking for why my voicemail password stopped working yesterday. Switching from AUTO to INBAND fixed my issue. Don't take this the wrong way. | reply to bbrookfield I tried my different IVR's and VM last night (PAP was already set to inband), and much to my chagrin all is well in the land of DTMF tones.
So not to waste any time, I sallied forth to my garage, scooped up a lid from a cooler, 2 gallons of gas, and my old phone. I then proceeded to give my old phone a Viking funeral with all the flames, pomp and fanfare.
No turning back now.
I'm in bed with VT for the long haul... (now who do I contact to request silk sheets for this bed ??)

| reply to ptrowski Does anyone know of a Web site that will display the digits of a call you make to a number (Sort of a DTMF test site). If not, sounds like a cool Idea. Maybe even offer a Fax preview and send option for testing Fax Receive and Xmit. Just daydreaming a bit... |

I had it in AVT on my BYOD PAP2 and it worked fine for VT VM system and outside too. Now AVT doesn't work, but inband does !!
Great Work. |

When you make this system wide ( inband ) let us know and I'll turn provisioning back on

| reply to bbrookfield Sweet news, can't wait to get home and make the changes. If this works as I figure it will, I can finally tell AT&T/SBC to take their over-priced landline and shove it where the sun will never shine..
Here's to crossing my fingers!! |

| reply to bbrookfield OK... I just tried logging into the VM system, and I got the new voice (thanks). However, with my DTMF set to Auto, it wouldn't recognize my tones (kept saying incorrect password). That happened when I dialed *123; when I dialed my own number, the * would not interrupt the greeting, so I couldn't enter my password. However, switching to inband solved the problem. I haven't tried the new settings on other IVRs yet. |

1 edit | reply to UPEngineer They probably don't have recurring nightmares of being chased around by giant phones screaming random DTMF tones at them. I figure if I'm gonna have guys in working on stuff at 3am I might as well be here with them trying to help out.
