Re: [ViaTalk] Partial fix for DTMF issue

Hmm... using a non-Viatalk PAP2 with Viatalk SIP credentials in it and haven't had a DTMF issue with VT. Is there anyone who is using a NON VT-issued adapter and has this issue?

Someone set their adapter to 'inband' and give our vmail system & then remote stuff a shot when you get a chance, and post the results here or PM them to me.

So far it seems to work...in fact, my pap2 was already set to inband instead of auto. So far so good, I can get into my voicemail and I can get into my automated caller at work too with no problems!

Good to hear, thats what we were expecting. Hopefully we'll see others getting the same results. If the device is being provisioned by us, a simple reboot of the device should switch it to the correct settings if it has not been done already.

Brendan,

Whatever you all did seems to work. So far so good!

I have been impressed with your service so far and I know there are going to be some glitches here and there but you guys seem generally concerned and receptive to everyone that posts here.

I mean how many "Big Cahunas" are up at 3 in the morning asking about some changes made to their service and if it works or not?

I'm impressed and looking forward to more additions and features!

They probably don't have recurring nightmares of being chased around by giant phones screaming random DTMF tones at them. I figure if I'm gonna have guys in working on stuff at 3am I might as well be here with them trying to help out.

OK... I just tried logging into the VM system, and I got the new voice (thanks). However, with my DTMF set to Auto, it wouldn't recognize my tones (kept saying incorrect password). That happened when I dialed *123; when I dialed my own number, the * would not interrupt the greeting, so I couldn't enter my password. However, switching to inband solved the problem. I haven't tried the new settings on other IVRs yet.

So just to clarify/double check, we should be setting the DTMF Tx Method to Inband now?

Great work Brendan and everybody who helped with this!

Dammit... now you've fixed every issue I've had with Viatalk, regardless of how minor they were. What the heck am I supposed to do on DSLReports now? Do you actually expect me to pay attention at WORK?

Sweet news, can't wait to get home and
make the changes. If this works as I
figure it will, I can finally tell
AT&T/SBC to take their over-priced
landline and shove it where the sun
will never shine..

Here's to crossing my fingers!!

Sorry Brendan, I went to bed before your early morning beta testing

Inband now works with ViaTalk Voice mail! , so I am happy to report with others this should once and for all slay the DTMF demon!

When you make this system wide ( inband ) let us know and I'll turn provisioning back on

Thank you for your outstanding support and listening to us here at BBR

Inband works now.

I had it in AVT on my BYOD PAP2 and it worked fine for VT VM system and outside too. Now AVT doesn't work, but inband does !!

Great Work.

I just tried Bank of America's IVR and it worked like a charm, no repeating of digits. Good work!

Does anyone know of a Web site that will display the digits of a call you make to a number (Sort of a DTMF test site). If not, sounds like a cool Idea. Maybe even offer a Fax preview and send option for testing Fax Receive and Xmit. Just daydreaming a bit...
