| Marketing is clashing with privacy matters. There's a lot of people who won't answer survey calls or will lie. (I'm one) Also a lot of consumers are getting pickier about an improved product - is it really worth the upgrade? I don't think a lot of the manufacturers have subscribed to the idea of build a better mousetrap. They are still relying on old-style demographics so now it's get the message across by any means. Even snail mail marketing is getting nastier. I just got a renewal notice for a new magazine subscription. It had a READ THIS NOW type notice on the envelope! No more please renew. So expect more spyware and spam on anything like computers, PDAs, and cell phones.
