In those few situations, I never let it worry me, and I never got fired. If you can't stand-up to a group of net-nannys or management types when they are asking unreasonable questions or making unreasonable (i.e. stupid) demands, you are not going to be effective in other situations when the chips are down and the lines are blurry.

The question is, of course, what is reasonable. To me, anything that might adversely effect the integrity of the network seems reasonable to me. But then I'm a pretty unreasonable guy.
